Today I realized it has been two months since I have done anything here! Maybe a quick over view of January and February then a pithy piece. Haha, I seem confident that I can sift through the ice coated thoughts and images caused by these frigid temps in Indiana and supply you with a story worth reading. We rang in the New Year with a sister we hadn't seen in quite awhile as a brother came sliding in at the last minute clutching coins to toss in the front door just after midnight because he remembered the ritual from last year and thought "why not". The visit with these two was good. The following week as we were on our way to adopt a wolf-hybrid pup another brother rolled into town. After an evening of catching up on life, romping and bonding with the pup we found ourselves on the road the next day to adopt the sister of the pup (benefactors, geeze). Yeah, it's pretty much been a life of chaos since. I attended book club where food was consumed, wine flowed and the current chapter of the book was briefly addressed before the conversation took different directions. February arrived and on Ground Hogs day our youngest son, the baby of the family, turned 25! On the way to visit family the truck broke down. Fortunately the following week the Mr. was able to repair it quicker and cheaper than ever anticipated while I watched our youngest g-daughters perform the greatest rendition of Frozen. After which we splashed paint on the pages of my art journal. The following day we became certified in NRA Basic Firearms course taught by our youngest daughter (another post). We attended a guitar concert of our oldest g-daughter. These kids did great and I enjoyed it. I hope she runs towards her dream of a singing career. I enrolled in a writing class as much for me as to stop the "nagging" of a good friend who said "how do you know you can't write? You always stop before you start!" She is a social worker in the school system somewhere in Pennsylvania close to New York. So Yeah. The Mr. & I work (him more than me), drink wine and cuddle on the couch in the evening cursing the cold as the pups romp like maniacs. I guess that is it. The synopsis of the past couple months is my story. So much for pithy. |
