Certainly dimmed my enthusiasm for a 2 mile run as well as venturing out for the two commitments I have today!
Sipping my morning coffee I looked out the window to find that this silent intruder has ridden the northwest wind in to blanket everything in its path once again.

Rain blowing against the window throughout the day usually makes me want to curl up with a good book and cup of tea. Not today. Instead it wove a thread of magic and pulled me to my art table. Sketching, writing and a page in the new art journal. Before I realized it the day had passed. A glass of wine beckoned as I tossed dinner into the oven, so I poured a glass and hurried back to my chaos. Ideas are streaming, some hopelessly lost because I can not catch them all! No complaints, it is much preferred over the stumbling blocks of past months. A new year, new expectations, commitments etc etc. I didn't pick a word for the year (at least not yet). I didn't make resolutions. I spent some time contemplating whether to continue with this blog or move on. If I stay do I continue in the random manner that has been the norm or pick a certain direction and run with it. I got tired of thinking about it and took to my art table. I've spent my time playing with paint, paper and accessories. Freed my mind, soothed my soul and I see changes afoot. As I move from empty page to empty page in this new mixed media sketch book my son bought, pictures and ideas emerge with little thought or plan on my part. I only have to show up and pick up a paint brush or pencil! Love these two new guys who have emerged of their own volition. |
