Cars with their drivers hunched over steering wheels passing houses where wind chimes sounded their forlorn notes.
The picture doesn't show the wind whipping the trees back and forth nor rain drops finding their way down. An ordinary day at first glance. But the wind was gusting through the branches causing the trees to dance as if their lives depended on it. Rain fell fast from the grayness above.

Marks little brother came rolling in our front door on the eve of New Years Eve. He made it for a visit before the year ended. A welcome surprise and distraction.
He came bearing gifts from his trip to Japan earlier in the year. We talked, laughed, lounged and drank. They had beer, I had wine and the toasts were with top shelf tequila. We rolled through the week-end eating, drinking and laughing. We kept with our tradition on New Years eve of standing outside our front door and tossing coins through the door into the foyer as the old year faded into the new. I passed on the honor making him the "Keeper of the Coins" this year. Happy New Year! Just after returning from an early evening walk with my pup that provided a beautiful sunset (no phone or camera to capture the beauty) and applying the banana peel mask to my face I realized I had not taken my first photo of the year. I try each year to take a picture on Jan 1 and post it. I like to see how I travel through the transition of time.
But here is what I did do, I let the brilliant soft hues of the evening sky soak into my eyes and mind and gave thanks for gift of seeing. As I stood in front of the mirror gently wiping the inside of the banana peel across my face I looked into my own eyes and welcomed me to a brand new year. In reference to the above mentioned banana peel usage I provided the link to an interesting article: http://www.stylecraze.com/articles/amazing-benefits-of-banana-peels/ |
