This wreath is a combination of natures gifts collected over time from ocean beaches, lakes and a river we have visited, canoed, lived near and camped on. Maybe I can't live the beach life or visit these places as often as I would like or maybe even ever again but we brought home the memories. Instead of leaving them tucked away forgotten and dusty in random drawers or on closet shelves I decided to bring them into our everyday life.
Every year around this time, the bottoms of my feet itch relentlessly, moments of angst arise and I crave to hit the road in any direction except east. Reality most often keeps me right where I am, like it or not.
Here is a place I've been too long. It doesn't fit anymore. But I can't leave just yet. So I soothe myself with random do overs in the rooms of our house that are still awaiting final renovations. I make a temporary oasis as needed.
disclaimer: No starfish were hurt or euthanized in the making of this driftwood wreath :)).
