On the same note but different venue, I have completed 3 of the 11 lessons/assignments/tests of my writing class. I feel challenged but confident as I make my way along. Even though its only sunday, its a great start to a new week.
Luck was on our side for a change. Its done with the exception of hooking the dishwasher up. Need a part. But what might have been an extremely costly, messy, drawn out kitchen plumbing repair ( that I lamented about in a cpl previous posts ) was fixed by my awesome husband (who is not a plumber) for just under $60.00, very little cussing and as well as any professional could have done. Its so great to have something go our way for a change. Thank You Lord!!!

Mark started reassembling the kitchen sink. Put the new drain in and was configuring parts when he grasped the main drain line and it came out of the floor in his hand! He tore out the bottom of the cabinet to get a closer look and it appears that it had been broken and rigged from the time we bought the house 6 yrs ago. Someone just took PVC pipe and ran it from the sink drain down into the sewage drain, as in not attached, just shoved down into the main pipe!! You couldn't tell because the problem was underneath the bottom of the sink cabinet and we never had any water flooding or leaking out from under there. On one hand we are lucky because it is a concrete floor, the water damage could have been huge otherwise, but on the other the expense will be substantial, not to mention the mess, time and hassle to tear up the concrete to fix the drain. What is the matter with people?? The mentality of "this is broken so we will rig it and sell so that it is not our problem" is just wrong. I don't mean to sound whiney but what the hell??? When one thing starts going wrong it becomes an avalanche. Would focus on the upside if I could see it. It's just not really apparent at this time.
Lady luck? Karma? FICKLE!!!! The morning was spent making decisions, tearing out the old dishwasher, disposal and faucet. Of course old old lines and parts have to be replaced which sometimes is no easy task. So while the hubby is making a depot run I worked at dismantling a small garden behind the house. Open the area up a bit especially with the siding work that is in progress. Hope to eliminate several piles of accumulated aluminum and wood and rocks in the very near future. It's difficult to visualize just how you want things when so many projects are in the works!
Between our house and some additional business issues that are requiring alot of attention there doesn't seem to be a dull moment around here. Or free time. At least for now. It's too late to back out now! I initiated it and paid for it. Now I have 6 months in which to complete the writing course. It's time to tackle the creative muse and let the adventure begin. I would like to say "Be prepared to be shocked and awed by my brillant writing style" but.....uhm.......phew......gulp........considering what I have produced so far I think I'll just keep it low key and see how it all progresses.
