Though there are a few melancholy moments I've come to think that maybe things had to occur the way they did in order for everyone to be able to move forward on their own given paths. No one can know from day to day what life has in store. The ability to roll with it, good or bad, is essential. As life lessons tear you down, they also build you up. Finding and learning the lesson in all of it is the key. You can't ask for more than that I guess.
Today and yesterday, are they separate? I don't believe so. This has been a year of turmoil, hard lessons and surprisingly few regrets despite the hardships that cropped up. Happy moments were interspersed every now and then, which probably eased the way through some situations. Due to certain turns of events the holidays are being celebrated differently this year but I can't say it is a completely bad thing. It is allowing space for new traditions, gatherings and celebrations. Some family members are intentionally distant, both emotionally and physically, while others live at a distance and still others due to circumstances are now availing themselves to being able to explore long held ideas and desires in creating their own family holiday traditions.
