There is something to be said for waking early and journaling while drinking your first cup of coffee in the morning. This mug is my current favorite, though I can't explain exactly why. Maybe it's the face or the muted rose color or the way it feels perfect in my hand. I don't really need to know why. But I do like having different mugs in my cupboard to choose from; each having their own unique appeal depending on my mood!

Starting the morning with coffee, journaling and sketching. As I've said I am posting all, the good, the bad, the ugly. Later the hubby and I are going to make the traditional crescent cookies. Secret family recipe. One of the better kept secrets if you ask me.
If all goes accordingly I also hope to work on some handmade Christmas cards. The weather has been frigid, sky mostly gray all week. Today it's still cold but the sun decided to show which makes everything more inviting, at least for me. Since I was almost totally indoors all week there was no excuse for not catching up on some art. I'm enrolled in some online classes and art challenges. I've decided to post my work in the groups and here whether I think it's good or bad. When I finished todays prompt I recalled when Chad thrust a pencil, eraser and sketch pad in my hand and said " You won't know if you don't try". Pretty sure he was tired of my continuous requests for his drawing skills in my projects. Anyway, that set me on a long journey of "trying like hell" and being my own worst critic. All these years later not only do I have some skills but I think I'm actually beginning to see the beginnings of my own expressions and voice. Some of the following pictures are from class and challenges the others are just quick scribble sketches from and of whatever.
