July is a month of conflicts. Mark & I were married July 5th, and celebrated our 27th anniversary this yr. Chad, our first born son was killed in action Iraq July 7, 2003, our youngest daughter was married in July, our son-in-law celebrates a birthday as does one of our young granddaughters. Chad's best friend James, brought into the family and became one of our own birthday July 10 & kia July 19, 2011. What began as a month of celebration became a month of loss & devastation. We had to figure out how to make our way through the desolation and reclaim the celebratory aspect. It was not an easy road nor a short journey. We didn't get over the losses but learned how to go around and pick up the thread and go on. Life is different, we are all changed. Yet we have persevered and found our way. We now on the anniversaries of loss, remember them, honor them and celebrate the blessing of them in our lives no matter how short the time. They are always missed, we still cry, but we also laugh and reminisce. And Mark & I can now once again look forward to celebrating us.
