The journey is never easy. Not even when it seems like you have reached a sweet spot. Invariably it turns out to just be a brief respite.
He arrived in this place with no intention of remaining for long. Circumstances dictated otherwise which left him constantly struggling to adjust. Just when the pressure was too much and his spirit bereft a connection was made. It brought a feeling of excitement and welcome. Yet because he had walked alone for so long with the exception of one very true hearted friend, he forgot to be mindful and proceed with caution. He fully surrendered himself in that moment to the idea and feeling of having found kindred spirits if not his kinsmen. He relished the new camaraderie and inclusion in this group of people. His whole life had been a quest. Filled with a deep undefinable sadness that left him constantly seeking and yearning to find his place, fulfil what he was destined to do and know who he truly was.
He felt that he might finally have found where he was meant to be. This new sense of self and eagerness lowered his usual defenses along with the intuitive knowledge that he should learn the dynamics of the group as a whole as well as individually, which in turn made him lose track of time and share too much, too soon. He realized his mistake when he once more began to feel out of sync with his new friends and the realization dawned that he was indeed a misfit. This knowledge had always seemed a heavy mantle for him across the years until he spoke these thoughts aloud to his friend.
This truehearted friend told him that he could allow this feeling to dishearten him or accept and embrace the fact that being a misfit was not a bad thing. He could live the life of a misfit never losing faith that it was tailored just for him. He considered and finally understood the truth in this observation just as he realized these people were meant to be teachers who briefly crossed his path while the journey of his gypsy soul would continue on.
