| One day is sunshine the next a soft warm rain. So far that's worked out perfectly with my gardening. On the rainy days I work on journals, balms and orders after getting my rowing time in. After rowing I do a little strength training and stretching or yoga. Feels good to get back into the indoor/outdoor routine. Of course I had to add a photo of our social distancing guard. I fit housework and laundry in between the fun stuff and sometimes work on pieces for my writing workshop. I am very undisciplined in making myself sit and write everyday. Good thing the teacher isn't grading! |

The light moved in waves which dictated how I moved throughout the day. When the sun was out I headed outdoors to plant lavender and tomatillo plants. When clouds moved in I went indoors to do chores. I mailed orders of my Dandelion Balm & Oil. Made a meal when Mark came home for a work lunch. Answered emails. When the sun returned I went out to harvest dandelions where I encountered honeybees hard at work. I greeted them and we worked side by side. Them gathering pollen and me flowers to infuse for my healing balm and oil. We worked in unison. I plucked a waiting wish to share with everyone. The world might be a little different right now, but I am still grateful for what I have, the goodness of others and hope that as we come out of this pandemic things are changed for the better.
The afternoon was washed in sunshine, the temperature 68 and the yard was sea of dandelions. It was time for the first harvest of 2020. I'm sure I am a curiosity to those passing by seeing me bent over plucking the tops of the flowers from its stem and dropping them in a basket. Maybe I generate conversations! I've got my first batch infusing in oil, the first step in my process of making healing balms and oils. This year after once again giving out many, many, free samples I began selling it. At this time, what I charge only covers the product materials. If I am to grow my small business I am going to have to fine tune, production, packaging and postage. I certainly have the time right now! I will have product available for purchase on my store page very soon so be sure to check back.
April Fools Day heralds in the new month. I didn't prank anyone this year. With all the twists and turns to navigate through the Corona Virus, traveling with uncertainty to support family as my step-father passed away, and various other circumstances I never posted anything in March.
Being under a stay in place order doesn't affect me as it does others because it's pretty much what I have been doing for these past months. Job hunting was mostly online as was shopping except groceries and garden centers. I have my own exercise equipment so no gym and 18 years of experience in yoga so I am pretty adept at practicing on my own. It appears that I am inherently good at social distancing without being under order! I was beginning to step back into the world after Mark & I had been more or less off the grid for the past year. I got together with a couple friends I hadn't seen or talked to in more than a year and was making plans to venture out to different places with my camera. I also had ideas of checking out different non-profits to volunteer time and hopefully land at least a part-time job. I guess the time wasn't right because along came CoVid19. So I joined a women's group online and I meet with them on zoom a couple times a week. There is a plethora of free classes being offered in the art and writing realms at this time so I avail myself to them as well. I have plenty of projects waiting for me to begin or finish so I don't lack for things to occupy my time. I am considering hosting a circle for women on zoom. I will provide details soon. Be safe, be kind, and use this down time to your best advantage. |
